Analysts Morgan Keegan, Tavis McCourt, has reported that there is a sudden plunge in the shipping estimation of iPad from 16 Million to 13 million during the peak holiday season of December.
The report stated that the iPad has some of its charm stolen by competitive priced Kindle Fire. Even Amazon has claimed the sale of 1 Million Units each week. The “Wish-lists” feature of Kindle Fire has super seeded Apple and has accelerated to the top.
The celebration was already on the cards at Amazon, revealed Dave Limp, company’s VP- “Kindle Fire is the most successful product we’ve ever launched - it’s the bestselling product out all complete Amazon's product range for 11 straight weeks, we’ve already sold millions of units and we’re building millions more to meet the high demand”.
Whilst Amazon’s 7” tablet-Kindle Fire is put forward as a eBook Reader against Apple’s 10” iPad, few reasons are speculated about the win win situation for Kindle Fire.
First and foremost is the price factor; Apple should have reduced its price like blackberry did, it would work in its favor in terms of sales. The cost comparison of the two makes it quite evident as to why Kindle Fire managed to lead the show.
So, what next? Will apple change its policy and come up with iPad 3? It will surely be something to watch out for.
