Ravi Venkatesan, chairman and corporate vice president of Microsoft India operations has resigned, sources reported. Venkatesan made the exit to explore newer opportunities beyond the software major, trusted sources informed. Though Venkatesan will aid Microsoft to make a smooth transition, working with Microsoft International President Jean-Philippe, as soon as his successor is named. Microsoft had the chairman at a very crucial time as he architected their growth, setting a strong foundation for Microsoft, company insiders stated.
Other designations remain intact for Microsoft as, overall sales will be led by Sanket Akerkar along with serving for marketing and services businesses as the Sales and Marketing Head for India, while Hemant Sachdev will continue to lead the Consumer and Online business.
Microsoft faced such a situation earlier too when former Microsoft India MD Rajan Anandan had left the company to join Google India. Srini Koppolu, the corporate vice president and managing director also had left the company in August 2010. ITVoir NewsDesk |
