As per a recent report, the Redmond giant, Microsoft Corp’s executive in charge of relations with PC makers is shifting to a new role in the company. If reports are to be believed, Steven Guggenheimer will move from his current position of Corporate Vice President of Microsoft's Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) division to take up an unspecified new senior leadership job within the company. Most probabily it would be the poisition of new Hardware Chief.
A Microsoft spokesperson stated, Steven Guggenheimer will be replaced by another Microsoft executive from the unit, Nick Parker.
In a bid to directly counter Apple Inc's iPad and lightweight laptops, the software company has recently announced its own line of tablet computers dubbed as ‘surface’ at a much-hyped press event in Los Angeles.
Market watchers added, Microsoft has announced the latest rejig in its management, just two weeks after the software company opened up new fronts in hardware by announcing it would manufacture a tablet computer, ruffling feathers of some hardware partners.
Sources familiar with the matter informed our team, the latest changes would be effective from July 1st.
