Software services exporter MindTree has reportedly posted its standalone results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2012. If reports are to be believed, it has posted a 28.6 percent jump in net profit to Rs 89 crore for the quarter ended June 30 compared to the preceding (March) quarter.
Company's overall revenues grew over 7 percent to Rs 563 crore in the same period. In dollar terms, the revenue is almost flat at $105.5 million, while net profit grew 21.3 percent to $16.7 million, sources informed.
It is found, MindTree has shown consistent improvement over the last four quarters.
As of June 30, 2012, MindTree had 245 active customers. During the quarter, $1 million customers increased by 1 to 78; $10 million customers increased by 1 to 8. As far as employee count is concerned, MindTree added 272 people on a gross basis during Q1 FY2013, taking its total strength to 10,830 as of June 30, 2012.
Commenting on the results, CEO Krishnakumar Natarajan has stated, the global demand environment continues to be challenging as customers are cautious in their IT spending. However, with MindTree’s strategic initiatives, we expect to achieve Nasscom's current industry estimates for the current financial year.
He further added, the company will continue to focus on operational efficiencies. The company is embarking on multiple initiatives to enhance their competitiveness , which will further elevate MindTree to the next level.
