NEC, the Japanese firm and leader in projectors and servers has received accolades for providing finest solutions. NEC has been honored for its digital signage solutions with the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Customer Value Enhancement Award in the global digital signage market.
Frost & Sullivan Customer Value Enhancement Award is presented each year to the company that performs well to satisfy the users’ requirements and represent its abilities to expand the customer line while maintaining the previous lineage. Frost & Sullivan is San Antonio-based business research consultancy. The consultancy is keen to honor the companies that induce more innovative value creation in their products and enhancement strategies than competing vendors.
Prior to this, NEC Display had an impressive showing in the 2008 VARBusiness Annual Report Card, making it to second position for best performance in quality. The company had a tie up with Toshiba and EMC. The company lagged behind Samsung in the display category. The company although saw a slight loss in the partnership subcategory and specifically Partner Portal and Communication.
In October, NEC announced it was discontinuing production of large-format plasma screens to focus on LCD technology for conference room and digital signage products.
