Acknowledging the increasing IT usage by small and medium businesses (SMBs), the tech giant Netgear is reportedly focusing more on Indian SMBs for its business expansion and to drive a stronger partner strategy.
According to latest chunk of information, the company is now looking for new opportunities from reliable, affordable and simple range of products covering the entire infrastructural needs of SMBs, encompassing switching, storage, wireless and security solutions.
Subhodeep Bhattacharya, Regional Director, India & SAARC has recently shared his view on company’s expansion plans in India, at a National Seminar. He stated, India is a home to around 50 million SMBs, of which 10 million are tech-savvy. The number or the addressable market opportunity will upsurge to approximately 11 million by 2015.
Also, SMBs in the country will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15 percent by 2015, contributing $15 billion or over one-third of India’s overall IT spend. Hence the company can foresee overall growth for NETGEAR in coming years by tapping the SMB segment.
In order to tap the SMB segment, NETGEAR is in the process of building a strong channel ecosystem in the country, wherein it is looking for competent partners who could help the company penetrate deeper into the Indian market.
It is worth noticing, Netgear already has presence in SMBs with product range including wireless routing, including 802.11AC routers, security hardware products like UTM and numerous ReadyNAS storage devices.
Besides these products, Netgear has also recently forayed into service providing with 3G products and Wi-Fi equipments.
