Nokia cuts price of its flagship smartphone to half

In a move that may trigger a price war in competitive smartphone market, Nokia has decided to reduce the price if its flagship smartphone Lumia 900 to half, barely three months after its launch.

According to latest piece of information, the cost of the Lumia 900 Windows phone has been reduced to $49.99 from $99 by Nokia with a two-year agreement.

According to Keith Nowak, Nokia spokesperson, the latest price cut is part of Nokia's ongoing lifecycle management, which is jointly done between Nokia and carrier customers.

Featuring a 4.3-inch screen, 1.4-gigahertz processor and 8-megapixel camera, the Lumia 900 uses largely untried software from Microsoft Corp.

Packed with a 4.3-inch screen and powered with 1.4-gigahertz processor, 8-megapixel camera, Nokia Lumia 900 has used largely untried software from Microsoft Corp.

As a matter of concern, it is found, world's second-largest cell phone maker is lagging behind in the smartphone race where Apple and Samsung are already going ahead with faster speed. Initially, Nokia phones have won some good reviews, but have had relatively little success than numerous Samsung’s Android powered smartphones and Apple’s iPhone available in the market. Slow sales have so far thwarted Nokia's recovery efforts.
