Observing enormous growth in smartphone segment, Japanese electronics maker Panasonic Corp is mulling to take another stab at the mobile phone business in Europe from next spring.
For this, company is in conversations with a major telecommunications firm operating in European countries.
Sources informed that the devices on tap are apparently Android phones like the P-07C, which has a 4.3-inch touchscreen powered with intuitive features for customizing Android.
Panasonic is also planning to bring its smartphones to North America and Asia very soon. Panasonic already has a presence in the PC division which mainly caters to B2B segment. Its computers are heavily built and used for industrial applications.
Panasonic is intending to sell almost 15 million handsets by 2015.
It is interesting to note that Panasonic withdrew from mobile phone business in Europe and China in fiscal 2005 because of stiff price competition from other rivals. ITVoir NewsDesk |
