RIM to launch new 4G LTE PlayBook tablet next week

This time, Canada's Research In Motion has reportedly chosen its home country to launch the next version of PlayBook tablet namely 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook tablet with built-in support for cellular networks.

It is reportedly said that the BlackBerry maker will launch the new tablets in Canada first and then roll it out in other countries including the United States, Europe, South Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean in coming months.

Trusted sources informed that the new 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook will come power-packed with OS 2.0.1, a browser that "support more HTML 5 content than any other native tablet browser available around as well as access to the BlackBerry Video Store. Powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor, LTE Playbook will have 1GB RAM, a 5megapixel rear camera that can shoot full 1080p HD videos and 3MP front-facing camera.

Considering there is no official word to back up this story, it is rumored that the new 4G LTE BlackBerry PlayBook will sport a 7-inch display. It will have a display resolution of 1024x600, and a 4800 mAh battery.

It is worth noticing, PlayBook tablet is RIM’s first product to use the QNX operating system that the Canadian handset maker is adapting for a new generation of BlackBerry devices designed to compete with other high-end devices already available in the market.  But the earlier version of  PlayBook tablet earned a lukewarm response and was criticized badly for lacking RIM's trademark email and organizer applications. As a result, it has failed to wow consumers despite sharp discounts and a major software upgrade.

Market experts added, support for the cellular networks was one of the crucial features missing from its poor-selling initial models.

The company did not give any details on the pricing of new PlayBook.
