According to a latest update, Samsung Electronics Co has regained its lost lead from Apple Inc as the world's biggest vendor of smartphones after the Q1 results.
It is reportedly said that Samsung has shipped 44.5 million smartphones in the first quarter, giving it 30.6 percent share in smartphone market. On the other hand, the fruit themed brand Apple has shipped 35.1 million units in the first quarter, giving it a 24.1 percent share.
The Finnish company Nokia Oyj has reportedly grabbed the third spot in the list.
Latest stats revealed, the mobile smartphone segment in India is growing at a whopping pace of 220 percent.
Analysts believe, strong demand for Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones helped the company to post first-quarter net income of 5.05 trillion won ($4.5 billion).
Market watchers further added, Samsung and Apple have carved out a duopoly in the high-end smartphone market. However, other rivals are struggling hard to introduce compelling models that could compete with Samsung and Apple smartphones.
The duo (Samsung-Apple) has controlled 90 percent of the market last year, which is not expected to change much in the near future.
