Tech giants TCS, Infosys and Wipro are reportedly vying for government's ambitious e-governance programme MCA21 for India Inc.
If reports are to be believed, the project will have a budget of hundreds of crores of rupees. Most probably, the cost of the MCA21 project would be over Rs 300 crore.
To rewind: Goveronment’s MCA21 programme was originally initiated in 2006. This program was initiated in the thrust to start the adoption of secure electronic filing (e-Filing) for all the services provided by the Registrar of Companies (ROC) including incorporation of a company, annual filing, registration of charges and other event-based filings.
Insiders informed, India Inc. is all set for an overhaul as the ministry of corporate affairs is working on the next-generation version that too at a time when it is facing risks of corporate frauds.
According to Veerappa Moily, Corporate Affairs Minister, bids have already been called for the second phase of MCA21.
Further he added, Indian government wants to take this forward as early as possible. However, nothing can be said as final decision has not been taken yet. So, stay tuned.
