Why Nokia is leading Indian mobile phone market?
Added On:4/12/2012 11:30:00 AM

A recent survey result has revealed the information that the Finnish handset maker Nokia is the most preferred brand in India. With the latest update, for the year 2011, Nokia retained its leadership position with 31 percent share of the overall mobile phone segment, followed by Samsung at number two with 15 percent and Micromax at number three with 5 percent share in terms of sales.

Presently, Nokia manufactures 1 million phones including both feature phones and smartphones every day.

How did Nokia do it?  Analysts quote, one simple reason is user’s trust. Market watchers further added, Nokia phones are more reliable, sturdy, functional and, most importantly, well tested for Indian conditions as compare to other handsets available in the market.

Some other analysts believe, other companies like Samsung and LG not only manufacture mobiles but are also offering other home appliances like TVs, DVD players, ACs etc. But Nokia is the one alone company which deals with manufacturing of cell phones only and is concentrating more on quality than on quantity of handsets.

Moreover, Application store is also facilitating Nokia to become user’s number one choice. It is found that Nokia Music Store is India’s largest online music store with a catalogue of over 6 million songs. It is important to note that India is among the top 3 countries in terms of music downloads with approximately 2 million downloads a month.

All these factors are working as a sturdy strength to make Nokia as number one brand in India.
