The next major upgrade of Microsoft's operating system for PCs, tablets and laptops, Windows 8 will reportedly go on sale in October.

Earlier, Microsoft had announced that Windows 8 would be commercially available before the end of the year but hadn't given a firm shipping date. Now, the Redmond giant Microsoft has announced the time frame for Windows 8's mass-market release.  However, specific sales date in October has not been revealed by Microsoft.

It is reportedly said that the new software by Microsoft is reportedly narrowing the gap between tablets and traditional PCs and allowing users to enjoy best of both the worlds. In addition, Microsoft is also ensuring to get a flawless Cloud experience which will keep Windows 8 devices synced with windows 8.

As far as windows 8 powered tablets are concerned, Windows 8 powered tablet PCs from Acer and Lenovo are expected to arrive in third quarter of 2012. However, these firms have not revealed more information about their forthcoming tablets yet.

Analysts added, generally new versions of Windows typically come out after every three years, but the new Windows 8 update is the most widely anticipated overhaul of the software since 1995.

Further quoted by analysts, Microsoft is hoping to restore company’s fading tech supremacy with the latest launch of Windows 8.
