Once proved a failure in tablet industry with Streak tablets, Dell is once again geared up to foray tablet market with Microsoft’s Windows 8 powered mobile device. If reports are to be believed, Dell intends to release its first tablet based on Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system by year end.  

Reliable sources informed, Dell ditched its earlier attempt to crack the global tablet market with the Streak 7” and 10” tablets, last year. These were powered with Google's Android operating system software. 

It is reportedly said that the tech giant Dell is now planning a fresh assault with the advent of a new tablet powered with Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating platform. It will have a touch interface that works across desktop computers, tablets and smartphones.

Dell’s new Windows 8 powered tablet will be tuned to work with both - the enterprise IT networks as well the end consumers, trusted sources informed. 

Steve Felice, Chief Commercial Officer at Dell shared his views in a recent interview that the company has a road-map of tablets that they haven't announced yet. Users will see some official announcements (in this regard) in the back half of the year. 

Further added by Steve, tablet market is still wide open and there is a clear need for a tablet that offers security and interoperability that enterprises require.

As a matter of concern, it is found, Microsoft has recently unveiled a test version of its latest Windows computer operating software windows 8, which has got positive response from users. 

Let’s hope, Dell’s re-entry to tablet market will help the company to recoup its lost market repute.
