Almost after five years of announcement that Google is working on an online file storage service, the search giant has finally disclosed Google Drive on April 24, 2012. Google Drive is an extension of Google Docs which allow users to store all types of files on its servers. With the Drive, the company is hoping to build the world's largest digital filing cabinet

Google has added numerous 3rd party Google Drive apps which can be installed from the Chrome Web Store. Users can use these free apps to edit images and videos, fax and sign documents, manage projects, and create flowcharts online. 

At first quick look, Google Drive looks just like another storage service. However, after reviewing it thoroughly, it is found that users also have a 'create' option on Google Drive. It permits using Google's online office suite, Google Docs to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, drawings and even presentations. 

Analysts believe, it's almost like having a complete computing solution in a web browser. 

The new Google Drive is available with both free and premium pay versions. With this new service, Google users get 5 Gigabytes of storage for free. However, different versions with incrementally more storage capacity up to 100 Gibabytes, are available. It is found, Google is offering two rate cards; one is offering 25GB storage space with $2.49 (Rs 137) a month and the second is 100GB of storage space for $4.99 a month. 

The best part is, users can access their stuff from anywhere on the web, in their home, at the office, and from any other mobile device that too across different devices including computers, phones and tablets.
