In a surprising move, Yahoo Inc’s Chief Executive Scott Thompson has stepped down from his post. He has taken this step after a controversy over a fake computer science college degree on his biography.
To the reader’s surprise, the scandal took hold a few weeks back. Scott has mentioned that he has a computer science degree, while he allegedly didn't have.
It is reportedly said that this is third CEO which is leaving struggling Yahoo in three years to define company's future.
It is worth noticing, Yahoo has appointed Scott Thompson in first week of January this year. Prior to join Yahoo, Scott Thompson was heading eBay’s PayPal.
Market watchers quote, Thompson's departure that too after just four months on the job throws into question to the future of struggling internet company Yahoo. Presently, Yahoo is struggling to revive growth amid fierce competition from the rivals including Google Inc and Facebook Inc.
According to a latest update, an official from Yahoo has confirmed Thompson's departure.
