Yahoo Inc, the troublesome search giant is collaborating with T-Mobile to boost its mobile search.
Yahoo has announced to tie with T-mobile in wake of expanding its mobile Web portals. With this deal or collaboration, Yahoo will get a boost in its mobile search market share as T-Mobile’s Smartphone users will use Yahoo search by default.
Yahoo has started serving T-mobile, and is sharing ad search revenue.
With deals inked with T-Mobile and AT&T, Yahoo will reach 105 million US subscribers. The long-scheduled announcement came hours after Microsoft Chairman Steve Ballmer announced that the company is not interested in reviving any attempts to purchase Yahoo. Though, Microsoft is interested in a partnership pegged to searches.
Yahoo shares closed down nearly 21 per cent after Yahoo Chief Executive Jerry Yang announced he would leave.
