According to the latest mobile metrics, 3G iPhone has topped the list of top devices worldwide for mobile ad traffic. The organizations involved in mobile advertising, offering banner and text ads to mobile devices, has cited that requests from the iPhone have jumped from 28 million in July to 236 million in October. Indicating these statistics, research reports added that Apple’s handset was responsible for 4.1% of the company’s monthly ad requests.
Detailing the statistics, the reports cited that majority of the ad requests come from iPhone users in the United States. In US markets, Apple iPhone lags behind Motorola Razr.
Outside of the United States, handsets from Nokia and Motorola dominate mobile ad traffic charts.
The reports cite that with the ever increasing demand of Smartphones and mobile browsers getting better, it is expected that mobile advertising will expand in next five years. Revenue is projected to grow from $1.4 billion in 2007 to $10 billion by 2013.
The advertising network continues to invite high-profile clients, and serves ads from more than 6,000 customers including Comedy Central, Cover Girl, Ford, Land Rover, and Toshiba.
