HTC has acquired 51 per cent stake in Beats Electronics, sources informed. According to the latest report, the deal has been sealed for $309 million.
Under the agreement, the two companies will aim for bringing superb sound quality to HTC phones. The partnership intends to give HTC phones the edge in mobile audio, to compete against the likes of Sony Ericsson's Walkman phones.
Beats Electronics perceives this alliance as an opportunity for taking sounds through smartphones to consumers.
HTC devices integrated with Beats sound innovations will reportedly begin appearing as soon as this fall. The Beats brand has expanded its footprints with HP laptops sporting Beats audio, but HTC are the first mobile maker to pair with the brand.
HTC purchased majority stake in Beats Electronics to enhance the sound quality on phones, music, video games and movies for its company.
Last year, HTC had teamed up with Dolby for integrating the Dolby Mobile innovations in HTC handsets.
