Spice Digital, one of the leading VAS players in India, announced its partnership with the Sangam Kala Group (SKG) to sponsor SKG’s annual National Talent Hunt, Spice Surtarang. The Sangam Kala Group (SKG) is an NGO that is well respected for it’s contribution to the music industry by unearthing grass root talent through its National Singing Talent hunt programs.
In the past 36 years of its existence SKG has unearthed extremely talented gems such as Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal & Sunidhi Chauhan, who have since their discovery dominated the Indian Musical Scene. Some of their recent discoveries that are now household names are Harshit, Abhaas, Vineet,Toshi, Ashpreet, etc .
An innovation within the mobile radio service is the concept of “Mobile Audition” that enables aspiring singers to not only record their songs, but also have them voted for by others as a popular choice. This also simplifies the process of auditions by enabling a large number of participants and speed of evaluation for judges, thereby demonstrating the true power of the mobile through reach.
The Spice Surtarang talent hunt is available for participants in 3 age groups, Sub-junior (5 to 12 years), Junior (12 – 18 years) and Senior (18-28 years) across Filmy and Non- Filmy categories. The participants who are short-listed by the mobile auditions process gain entry into regional rounds held across the country, the winners of which participate in the National round.
