Trend Micro, in competition to 8 leading vendors was ranked #1 in the results for its superior AntiSpam (Email Reputation and Content Scanning) technology. Trend Micro’s InterScan Messaging Security came out #1 in the results of Opus One while testing the anti-spam solutions of the top vendors in comparison.

Opus1 tested 9 vendor solutions in an anti-spam test performed for Trend Micro in December 2011. The vendors were selected based on the 2011 Gartner Magic Quadrant report for Secure Email Gateways and represented vendors in the Leader/Challenger categories. The 9 vendors are: Barracuda Networks, Cisco, Google, McAfee, Microsoft, Proofpoint, Sophos, Symantec, and Trend Micro.

Opus One performed monthly efficacy testing on anti-spam products for over six years. The unique and industry-leading methodology relies on actual corporate mail streams, manually analyzed for spam and non-spam email, run for approximately one week out of each month. It’s a laborious process, but it provides significant real world results--which differ from results obtained through automated tests based on artificial mail streams.
