Host Vulnerabilities Added to ServerShield 3.1 Vulnerability
Coverage
VMworld Europe 2008
Blue Lane Technologies announced the general availability of VMware
Infrastructure 3 hypervisor protection for its version 3.1 ServerShield
appliances. The addition of host coverage extends Blue Lane’s leadership in
data center vulnerability protection to also include hypervisor service console
software vulnerabilities.
“Blue Lane continues to deliver more server vulnerability protection than
any network or host intrusion prevention system vendor,” said Allwyn Sequeira,
SVP product operations at Blue Lane Technologies. “Blue Lane’s advanced
protocol context aware architecture, combined with comprehensive vulnerability
protection across all major data center operating systems and applications, has
now been extended to the VMware ESX host. The result is comprehensive and
accurate protection of physical and virtual environments with no signatures.”
Addressing the unique security challenges of the data center, Blue Lane’s
ServerShield is the only solution that:
Delivers unprecedented accuracy, visibility and availability for servers and
hypervisor hosts;
Requires no signatures, tuning or code changes on the server or hypervisor;
Protects servers and hypervisors from leading evasive attacks, including
mutating bots, Layer 2 attacks and SQL injection;
Delivers protection for virtual and physical infrastructures without requiring
hardware upgrades; and
Delivers very high server and hypervisor availability with very low latency.
“As organizations virtualize their physical data centers, they need to
design appropriate security into their plans,” commented Jeff Palmer, president
and CEO at Blue Lane Technologies. “Blue Lane is the only vendor to offer
comprehensive and accurate protection that can scale to meet security
requirements as organizations virtualize their servers, based around our
ServerShield and VirtualShield products.”
