Twitter rolls out new feature, ‘Time Out’

In spite of the fact that Twitter has been propelling many elements and activities to handle online abuse, Twitter has been giving the pushbutton to clients to block and report abusive content, go. But, with the most recent component, Twitter is taking the control in its own hands.

Boosting its anti-abuse activities, Twitter has taken off ‘Time Out’ element, limiting the post reach of records recognized as harsh incidentally and guaranteeing this offensive content reaches only to the individuals who have chosen to follow them.

Additionally, if the ‘punished user’ @mentions somebody who doesn’t follow them, that individual won’t see the tweet in their notifications tab. Regardless of the possibility that the post is retweeted by user’s followers, it won’t be shown to the individuals who don’t follow them.

The email says “creating a safer environment for people to freely express themselves is critical to the Twitter community.” Further the mail explains the reason why the users were being restricted and for how long.
