According to the data released by National Payment Corporations of India (NPCI), there is 13.5% rise in the number of UPI transactions as compared to January. February had around 171.4 million UPI transactions and 151 million in the month of January. The value of transactions was about Rs. 9669 crore, Rs. 13,172.2 crore and Rs. 15,571.2 crore for the month of November, December and January respectively. But for the month of February, it increased to Rs. 19,126 crore.
The Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) app accounted for 9.6 million transactions in January and 9.9 million in February.
Paytm topped the list with 40 percent of UPI transactions. PhonePe followed Paytm with 16 percent of all total UPI transactions.
Google Tez app has clocked over 250 million transactions from the date of launch in the month of September last year with a total strength of 12 million users.
Let’s hope for growth in next month UPI transactions with a new entrant, WhatsApp payments.
