Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer topped the list of gainers during the festive sales on various online portals like Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal with whooping sales of half a million handsets.
The organization said it ran out of stock for Redmi 3S Prime and Redmi Note 3 gadgets on Flipkart in a day given the consistently rising interest paving the way to Diwali.
In response to achieving this sales figure Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain mentioned in a Facebook post Selling Half a million phones meant close to 2 phones were sold per second during first three days of October. Basis their information no other brand has achieved the same.
He also added that in first three days of sale on Amazon, two of top selling mobiles were Xiaomi devices which Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 attaining the number 1 spot. If the entire electronics portfolio was considered,four of six top products belonged to Xiaomi.
Xiaomi supplied about three times the quantity it generally supplies on a weekly sale for Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime. These models were fast selling on Flipkart making Xiomi number one brand on the portal.
Xiaomi is now working with its contract manufacturer Foxconn in order to create bigger capacities in the months to come. There are already discussing regarding increase in number of lines and setting up of more factories.
Currently Xiaomi stands as the third largest smartphone brand (as of August 2016)across 30cities in India as per IDC.
