MobiKwik and BSNL announces their tie-up for digital payment services


The nationalized telecommunications major BSNL and today’s Indian mobile wallet major MobiKwik declared on Monday their strategic partnership to develop BSNL’s mobile application.

MobiKwik will create semi closed wallet for BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), to facilitate ease of payment and sell BSNL products also exclusively in their wallet.

This joint venture will helps users with services like bank transactions and bill payments in a faster and easier manner. Mobikwik will develop, operate and issue the wallet which is then distributed and marketed by BSNL.

As BSNL is widely present in all over the country, this partnership aims to deepen PM Narendra Modi’s digital India dream. The digital wallet will allow its users to make the bill payment via MobiKwik application.

Bipin Preet Singh, the founder and CEO of Mobikwik said “We are proud to associate with BSNL in an endeavor to empower masses in India with access to highly dependable internet connectivity and digital payments. BSNL wallet will enable masses in paying bills and recharging their phone connections within seconds. The co-branded wallet shall be integrated on BSNL’s platform by Mobikwik”.

Adding to this Singh also said that the mobile wallets are more gradually becoming a part of the daily lives of the today’s digital consumers, in particular the millennial who have grown up with digital, and about 93.9% of Gen Y have a smartphone. Thus, they use their mobile phones heavily and integrate various mobile tools in every part of their daily lives.
