Chinese Hackers are using WhatsApp groups to hack Indian systems: Indian Army


WhatsApp is the new platform for hacking. The video posted by India Army tells that Chinese Hackers are using WhatsApp are trying to hack into your systems. The warning by Indian Army came after they warned its soldiers against using apps like WhatsApp from their phones over security concerns.
“The Chinese use all kinds of platforms to penetrate your digital world. WhatsApp groups are a new way of hacking into your system. Chinese numbers starting with +86 barge into your groups and start extracting all the data,” a video tweeted by the ADGPI said.
The India Army posted the video which was reposted by Smriti Irani, the Information, and Broadcast Minister.

The Indian Army advised users to add contact by names, check WhatsApp groups and be cautious about unknown contacts.Adding to this, they also suggested that if you are changing your phone number, inform the group admin;  If you are changing your sim card, destroy it completely.

Last year, the higher authorities in the army ordered its soldiers  to format their smartphones and uninstall over 40 apps that can invite Chinese hackers. The list included apps like WeChat which rules the Chinese market for chatting app cum payment app.

They suspects that apps developed by Chinese firms are spyware and can endanger national security.

Chinese app firms have denied  the report of hacking, but the China government has different opinion about this.
